Year 6 Operation Artworks

Ten Year 6 students participated in a day long workshop to create these beautiful images of Chinese lanterns.  The students started with working drawings on paper to learn how to blend gouache.  Then they experimented with their backgrounds where they incorporated oil pastel with a wash over it.  Once their  lanterns were dry they used black pen marker and posca pens to add detail to their lanterns.  I am very proud of the work they produced.  Their beautiful lanterns have light, dimension, shape and design.  They were thrilled with the results, as they should be.  Congratulations year 6, they are stunning!
